FRENCH RETREAT AND PILGRIMAGE
Click here to book. (Arrivals on Saturday 8th are encouraged).
A healing pilgrimage to the Truth of who you are, guided by Magdalene’s teaching and the energies of this land where Mary Magdalene has been revered for centuries.
“People feel they have seen a woman with brilliant eyes, dancing not walking, with her hair wrapped around her like a coat.” (Jacqueline Kelen).
The gathering is held by Fay Barratt who is blessed with a deep connection to Mary Magdalene.
The retreat is based in the beautiful village of Durfort et Saint Martin de Sossenac in the Languedoc region. We will be staying in simple but charming adjacent village houses. Susie, our host, has converted her barn in to a retreat room which is surrounded by a, sometimes wild, and beautiful garden. Both houses have small pools.
After a few days of retreat and inner preparation, we will make a sacred pilgrimage to La Saint Baume, the sacred forest and the mountain cave in Provence where Magdalena is said to have spent the last 30 years of her life.
We will travel to St Maximum to visit the Basilica where Mary Magdalene’s skull is said to lie, then on to spend the night at the Dominican Hostelerie at the foot of the sacred forest.
The following day will be very special, spending time in the forest and in her Cave; returning to our base that evening.
If you have questions about any aspect of the workshop, please contact us. There are many possible ways to spend our time and exactly how we do this will unfold as we join with Her energy. We will be shown creative routes to let go of all that stands in the way of the Spirit's path. We may sit, share, sing, write, draw, meditate, and dance with nature and share the deep silence of the heart.
In order to keep the costs down we do ask that participants take turns in food preparation and washing up. We have managed to reduce the cost of this retreat and pilgrimage by £100 to £595.
Accommodation, food, workshop materials and facilitation during the week, are all included as well as travel on the ‘pilgrimage’ 2 days, (You will need some money for extra drinks on the pilgrimage days and the evening meal on our return to base.)
We ask you to make your own way to France. The nearest airport is Nimes, there is also Montpellier or you can travel by rail or car. We will try to coordinate lifts or taxis to and from the airports and train stations.
